Hoyle Court Primary School
In common with several other local authorities, Bradford Council has a growing population and in response to the increasing number of primary school children the Council has embarked on an “Expanded Schools Programme”.
Hoyle Court Primary School, is one of seven primary school expansion projects being carried out by William Saunders and this school is growing from one to one and a half form entry. The project is being carried out under a framework agreement with the Council.
We first obtained planning permission for a “Masterplan” and in spring of 2012 completed phase one of that masterplan. The second phase is due for completion in summer 2013.
Phase one (£1.8m) provided new classrooms and other teaching spaces; new toilets and cloakrooms; new plantroom; new car parking and a [temporary] new play area. Phase two (approximately £1.0m) will provide a sports Hall; staff and administration accommodation and further classrooms.
The project features a green roof and the classrooms have become a model for future development across the portfolio of projects.
The project achieved BREEAM “Very Good” and complies with all current Building Bulletins.
